For many, living independently is an important milestone that marks the beginning of one’s long-term life journey. While this is the same for people with disability, we understand that living independently can pose its own challenges. That is why we offer our Supported Independent Living service.

What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living, or SIL, refers to the disability support services in which people with disability are supported to meet their needs so they can live independently. This involves in-home care assistance to meet day-to-day needs, person and social growth development and any other support to help them live in their home.

As a SIL Provider, Elmur Community Services offers beautiful accessible accommodation homes located around Perth. Our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) homes are conveniently located and designed to offer accessibility, security, and peace of mind.

Whether you are looking to live on your own or to live in a shared home, our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services can suit the lifestyle you want.

Choosing What’s Right for You

Individual Living

For some, living alone is preferable, whether that be for personal or privacy related reasons. We offer SIL housing that caters to those looking for an individual living lifestyle. In these homes, we offered up to 24 hours of care provided by our dedicated disability support workers.

Our SIL service is incredibly flexible as we understand that each person’s needs and requirements are unique. So, our support team is available to provide care on an ongoing or as needed basis, whenever and however you need.

Shared Living

For those interested in shared living accommodation, our shared SIL homes are for you. In these, we will work with you to tailor match you with like-minded people who share a similar lifestyle. We are dedicated to helping you to find the perfect home that offers a supportive and uplifting environment.

Our shared living homes typically have 24-hour in-home care in which a team of home carers provide ongoing care whenever you need it. This includes overnight carer support!
